Fort worth rodeo.
“We are going to fill up Dickies Arena with colors, pageantry, flags, talent and dancing,” said Doug Mathis, Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) rodeo announcer about the Best of Mexico Celebración.
The event took place Sunday, January 15, 2023 and featured charros, folklorico dancers, mariachi bands, trick roping and so much more!
What isn’t your everyday American rodeo, this rodeo celebrated the traditions and artistry of the Mexican cowboy culture.
It kicked off with the Grand Entry, where the arena was packed with everyone participating in the rodeo, and not only were the eight flags of Mexico presented but the flag of every state in the U.S.
as a symbol of national unity. Highlights of the night included the cala de caballo, bareback riding, El Zorro, the Liberty Horse, artes de Mexico, dazzling trick riders, escaramuzas and mini escaramuzas, horsemanship and bull riding.
The exquisitely choreographed production ensured fans were on the edge of their seat and intrigued by the beauty in the dirt.
